After six lonely years of near dereliction An Seanachaí Bar & Restaurant has been lovingly restored to its former glory and was re-opened in June 2006 by new owners Johnnie & Mags Hurley and their family. Re-awaking the sleeping giant the Hurley’s, restored and renovated An Seanachaí protecting and maintaining the old world charm and traditional look. An Seanachaí proudly stands with traditional thatched roof; hand cut stone flags, traditional old furnishings abounding throughout the building. The buildings wrap around an outdoor courtyard which connects the old with the new giving a tastefully modern twist for those who wish to dine al fresco or simply enjoy a quite pint and a smoke. The courtyard is partially covered for any outdoor celebrations be it a family reunion , post wedding celebrations etc and is serviced by an outdoor bar. The long bar is the place to meet with friends and enjoy a drink and a chat. A welcoming log and turf fire burns brightly in the original fire place in the old kitchen, re-awakening the senses and scents of days past. AN SEANACHAÍ WAS WINNER IN THE KEEPERS OF THE FLAME AWARD 2011 IN THE CATEGORY MID SIZED PUB.
