The Folk House Pub

Three Irish words come to mind when visiting the Folk House in Kinsale, coel agus craic. Translated this saying means fun and music, which describes this pub perfectly!
It is an old world, yet trendy Irish pub that specialises in infused whiskeys, gin, craft beers and ciders. This is a pub with a difference and the wonderful range of exciting and tasty infused whiskeys they offer include, Fig Jameson, Date Paddy, Jameson Pickle Back, Chestnut Hot Whiskey and Sloe Jameson (our favourite!) Famous for its first class selection of whiskeys, atmosphere, friendly staff and central location in the heart of the beautiful town of Kinsale, you may just pop in for a drink and stay for the night! The Folk House has something for everyone and every mood. To warm the heart, you may take your whiskey, sit by the fire and settle into the big leather sofa or to warm the soul get ready for some world class music and musicians, which they have Thursday to Sunday every week. This is a venue which is loved by all and another bonus is admission to music sessions is always free! The extensive whiskey menu is very reasonably priced and they offer 20ml tasting measures for the more expensive whiskeys. Conor the owner is a wonderful character who takes an admirable pride in the unique selection of whiskeys in the bar. His passion and enthusiasm shines through with the creations of all those delicious infused and hot whiskeys. He also offers in house whiskey tastings (please prebook) and will be able to answer most of your questions about Irish whiskey. If you’re lucky you may just get to meet his sister Catrina, equally friendly and filled with passion for the bar and Irish whiskey. The Folk House don't do food, but Kinsale is known as the Gourmet Capital of Ireland, so combining delicious Irish cuisine with a night in the Folk House won't be a problem. As it happens, there are two very good restaurants more or less opposite the pub on Guardwell. Locals and tourists alike seem to flock to Hoby's, which has a simple but delicious menu or to Finn's Table, a little more upmarket and equally popular. The Folk House in the beautiful seaside town of Kinsale - a wonderful venue with whiskey, music and great company, sure what more could one ask for.
